CSR approach

« For Axilone, CSR means producing in an even more self aware and optimized way, sourcing and qualifying virtuous raw materials, and systematically designing and offering solutions that are both eco-responsible and desirable. »

Strategic Priorities

SURROUNDING OUR EMPLOYEES

There can be no design, development or manufacturing activity without trained, skilled employees operating in an open, safe environment. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life at work, promoting equal opportunities, maximizing workplace safety and developing the employability of our employees.

  • Employability
  • Quality of Life at Work
  • Safety at Work
  • Equality

PRESERVING OUR RESOURCES

There can be no sustainable development without preserving natural resources, using lean manufacturing processes and reducing our environmental footprint. We are committed to reducing the carbon emissions induced by our activities, both directly and indirectly, to reducing our water consumption and to significantly limiting waste production.

  • Carbon Footprint
  • Water & Waste
  • Raw materials (circular economy)

INVOLVING OUR PARTNERS

There can be no reduction in environmental footprint without virtuous technical solutions offering a credible and viable alternative, and without the involvement of the main players in the value chain. We are committed to mobilizing our supply chains and expertise to design, qualify and promote attractive, eco-responsible packaging solutions.

  • Eco-design
  • Business ethics
  • Sustainable procurement

Focus on initiatives

PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS

In 2023, all our sites in China have installed solar panels on their roofs, 30,000 m² for a total capacity of 7,000 KWh. The renewable electricity produced helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This project limits the consumption of electricity from the public network and frees the company from the local energy mix, which is mainly fueled by coal. These installations cover 14% of our needs and reduce our Scope 2 indirect emissions by 4K tCO2e.

SAFETY FIRST PROGRAM

“Safety First” is the initiative launched by the Group in 2015 to guarantee workplace safety for all employees and service providers on our sites.
We are deploying an incentive-based safety culture, since all our employees have a role to play in promoting risk prevention and anticipation. The main actions are:

  • Involving our employees in risk identification
  • Training teams in the 10 golden rules of safety
  • Exchange best practices at an annual safety day
  • Leading “risk prevention” working groups during an annual safety week
  • Rewarding the best risk prevention proposals.

MONO-MATERIAL DESIGN

To promote the recyclability of our products, we have developed a range of single-material solutions for all Beauty segments. For example, we offer a range of lipsticks in 100% PET, PP or aluminum (including the mechanism).

Within our PURE METAL range, we offer a complete range in full aluminum: lipsticks, but also compacts and caps, under the name of the “Pure Metal” collection.

OTHER INITIATIVES

Since April 2022, the Group has been a member of the United Global Compact, which works to achieve the United Nations’ sustainable development goals by 2030.

Our CSR action plan follows the SBTI (Science Based Targets initiative) program, particularly in its approach to reducing carbon emissions. In China, we also follow the recommendations of the “EmiCert” label.

In France, Axilone is a member of POLYVIA, the professional association for the plastics industry and ELIPSO (Association of packaging manufacturers). The group is also involved in the Clean Sweep operation, which aims to prevent the dissemination of plastic pellets upstream of production, and thus of plastic collection and recycling channels.

Axilone is a member of SPICE (Sustainable Packaging Initiave for CosmEtics), a joint initiative between customers and suppliers in the beauty packaging sector, to guide and build the future of sustainable packaging.
